Photo Shoots

I am lucky enough to have a couple of friends who are considering photography as a future career! So they asked me to model for them! I had a really good time doing both shoots and I know I'd never make a good model but it was still interesting :P

My first shoot was with my friend Luela who got me to dress up in my grad dress and shoot in the park and golf course! These are my favorites!!

Lost

So here I am just turned 18, just graduated, just lost! I have no idea what I'm going to do!
I stand here watching my world turn round and round! The people in it moving ahead and changing all while I sit her confused, scared and lost! I have no idea what I want to do, what I can do, what I could spend the rest of my life doing (or at least a good portion of it).
Some moments I just want to run, run until I'm as far from everything I know! Just pack my belongings and disappear! Start somewhere new and fresh, far from all this!
Other moments I want to scream! I want to scream out all my fears, pain, confusion, and frustration.
God, I don't know what I'm going to do!!
All I know is that I'm so unsure!

People Can Be Pathetic And Cruel

So a couple nights ago, around eleven o'clock, we got a call from our neighbor just across the highway from our horse ranch! He told us that our row of bales in front of our trees by our driveway were on fire! We drove out there to find a couple firetrucks, a police car and 52 of our bales on fire! Someone had come late at night knowing that we don't live on the ranch at the moment and set the bales on fire and about 15 of our beautiful, mature evergreens surround our place! We were lucky the wind was blowing the way it was or it could have burnt our old house, our machinery, our pens, our barn and well everything! We could have lost everything! Our animals, our land, our home! We stood in shock as we watched the firefighters contain the fire and then proceed to let it burn out! We need those bales to feed our horses! Without them, we will have to somehow come up with money to buy bales and find bales to buy. The saddest part is we were not the only ones hit and we were not hit the hardest. Just a couple of roads down from our farm, they lit another farmer's bales on fire! Unfortunately, they lost 200 of their bales! That's about $6000 lost plus months of labor! We heard later that while the firefighter's were busy putting out the fire's, a firefighter's truck was stolen from the station! He got back from all his hard work, early in the morning to find it gone! The police don't have leads about who it could be and we just found out the insurance won't cover our loss on the bales!

Friends are the most amazing asset a person can ever have! They make life worth living, pull you through the rough times, make the amazing times, create laughter from nothing and love you for just who you are!!

Friends are there to tell dirty, hilarious jokes and do such stupid things in the BP's that you almost get kicked out!! And the everyone else leaves!

 And friends are especially there to pick you up a few minutes before your eighteenth birthday and when the it turns midnight, pull over, drag you out of the car and then jump up and down in the ditch screaming that you're eighteen! Then they pick you up and "accidentally" drop you in a ditch all while your other friend takes pictures! I love you two!

I dedicate this Charlie McDonnell a.k.a Charlieissocoollike. My friend Sable introduced me to his wonderful youtube channel and thus his amazing videos! He has the most random, funny, quirky videos on youtube! Charlie is a young youtube vlogger and an accomplished musician! He lives in London and is the most subscribed "youtuber" in the UK! He has done so many interesting things and he's only just turned twenty! Things like "In 2009, Charlie went on to work with BBC Switch on a project called ChartJackers, a collaborative effort between four YouTube personalities with the aim of ‘high-jacking’ the UK Singles Chart by releasing a song to raise money for charity. The single reached #1 in the UK Independent Charts, and #36 in the UK Singles Chart, raising over £10,000 for Children In Need." (I quoted this straight from his official website) or presenting  the YouTube Audience Award to The Inbetweeners as part of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Television Awards.  
 
But the main reason I love Charlie is because he is so uniquely comfortable in his own skin and with himself especially at such a young age!! He is aware that thousands of people watch him and yet he is perfectly happy to put himself out there with each of his videos! He is open, honest, charming with a sweet grin that you cannot help but smile back to. He entertains, delights and captivates his audience! I mean how else would he have over 600,000 subscribers, 75 million total video views and over 15 million channel views as of this month.

I have realized that Charlie is a bit of idol, well not really more like a good friend (that I happen to only know through Youtube) that I wish I could emulate his confidence, brilliance and absolute talent for this sort of thing! So I am working at becoming a little more comfortable in my skin and work at becoming as accomplished and interesting as Charlie but in my own way with my own style!

Charlie in Balloon Animals

T.V.

Well I decided to share a few of my fave t.v. shows! I hope some of you will check them out if you haven't already!!
I'd recommend Fringe. It's a series about a FBI Fringe Division that tries to get to the bottom of a scientific experimental war between our world and a parallel universe! Kind of sounds dorky but it's really amazing!!
Also Bones is a really great show. It deals with a very literal, genius anthropologist, Dr. Temperance Brennan who works with tough, former Special Forces sniper, FBI Agent, Agent Seeley Booth and her geek squad known as the "Squints".
And of course Gok's Fashion Fix!! Absolutely lovely! In this show, Gok Wan sets up four high street fashion outfits against four haute couture outfits and the audience chooses the more stylish/preferable set!
Castle is a really good show about a famous mystery writer who killed off the main character in his book series and has writer's block. He end up helping the NYPD solve a case and then decides to base his new character on the female Detective he works with. He begins shadowing her investigations to gather information and incidentally helping her solve the cases.
Oh and I love the Mentalist! It's a show about Patrick Jane, an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI).He used to be a psychic medium (he doesn't believe in psychic abilities though) but he quit after the murder of his wife and daughter by Red John. He now uses his various skills learned from years of reading and conning people as a medium to help the CBI in hopes that he will catch Red John.

I recommend having and idol to try to emulate as as source of a goal, a dash of confidence and for a little inspiration! Now that doesn't mean I think you should try to emulate everything about them because you still have to remain you. You don't want your life to revolve around them! The goal is to take their good qualities or ones that you admire to help you strive to better yourself!

        - Gok Wan!! His adorable feel for fashion and his outrageous take to feeling and looking good is inspirational!

Career - Julia Roberts with her range, drive and determination!

Fitness and Health - My sister! She went from being a little overweight to super skinny and healthy. Well actually she's just an all around idol! She has super taste, she's über healthy and really fit! As well she has an amazing guy and a great career! I hope some day I can have my life that under control! I love you babe!

Jeans are absolutely amazing! They are the epitome of comfort, style, ease and genius. Jeans have a way of hugging all your curves, making small curves look fuller and big ones a bit smaller and leave you feeling sexy and fabulous! Or at least they can. If you know how to pick jeans for your body type, they certainly can! Here's hopefully a few helpful hints that I got with a little help from becomegorgeous.com!
Petite: Skinny, straight and slightly boot cut depending on your curves.
Pear:  Wider waistband and a higher rise in the back. Slim dark washes and flared jeans. 
Hourglass: Bootcut or flare. A stretchy denim will love your curves. 
Apple: Not too high of a waistband. Look for a curved waistband that's higher in the back. 
Slim and Tall: High rise.

Thanksgiving

Well I just went to Thanksgiving supper at my Baba and Dido's (which is Ukrainian for Grandma and Grandpa). I spent time with family and ate a ridiculously large amount of delicious food!! We had turkey, ham, holubchi (cabbage rolls), nalesniki (cottage cheese and parsley wrapped in an almost crepe, smothered in cream and baked in the oven), stuffing, and other such delights!! Then I realized how much the Ukrainian aspect of my life and of my holidays are so important to me! And then I realized how much I want to share that someday when I have my own family! This was the point it also hit me that I know very little about it and now I would like to learn from my Baba all the preparation and recipes etc. that she has to offer me! I want to learn more about our culture and my heritage! So I'm going to plan a day to learn to make nalesniki, nachynka (cornmeal sort of stuffing), traditional wheat, perogies and other delicious dishes! So this is my plan and hopefully I will get the chance to do that soon.

INTRO

Heyy! I have decided to start this blog because I love to write!! I would like to create a blog where I talk about the things that make me happy and any tips/advice I have! I want to share my take on life and on the simple things that get me through: make-up, fashion, dance, friends, family!
